You can travel to the Isles of Scilly by ferry, plane or helicopter and the options vary throughout the year. It is not possible for visitors to bring cars to any part of the Isles of Scilly.
Ferry
You can travel by boat aboard the Scillonian Ferry from Penzance
in Cornwall to the quay at St Mary's. The sea voyage makes
an excellent start to visiting Scilly, with a tour of the
beautiful Cornish coast and Lands End on the way out. If
you have a lot of camping gear or canoes etc, it is the
best option. Also once you have put you luggage on the correct
container on the quay in Penzance, you won't have to handle
it again until it is here at Troytown.

Plane
Skybus flights from Newquay
and Land's End to St Marys operate thoughout the year, and in summer
there are also flights from Southampton, Bristol and Exeter.

and convenient, running throughout the day. You can park

The Spirit of St Agnes
provides the inter-island service for visitors to St Agnes. There are usually several trips between St Marys and St Agnes all days apart from Sundays. It routinely
meets the Scillonian ferry to transport passengers to St Agnes and it is not neccessary to book this.
If you are arriving by air, you should
check with www.st-agnes-boating.co.uk
to confirm your transfer to St Agnes from St Mary's quay.
Please make sure all bags are labeled
with your name and Troytown, St Agnes. Luggage will also be carried on the Spirit of St Agnes. There will be a charge for unaccompanied
and/or excess luggage on the Spirit. Please advise us when booking if you will have a trunk, kayak or other heavy
gear. All bags are handled manually by the boat crew and the campsite staff so please whenever possible restrict single items of luggage to
a maximum of 15kgs (40lbs).
We will meet the boat and transport
your luggage to the campsite/cottages by tractor and trailer.
Camping trailers (up to 3 metres in
length), dinghies, windsurfers, canoes and diving equipment
can be brought to St. Agnes. If you have any of these please
check with the Steamship Company at Penzance before
confirming your holiday dates at Troytown. |
 Directions to Troytown Farm
The campsite is a gentle 15 minute walk from the Quay where you will arrive on the Island. If you follow the concrete track from the quay, straight on past the Turks Head pub, Covean cafe, the Post office stores, past the lighthouse on your right and the Coastguard cottages on your left. The concrete changes to a rough farm track and the campsite is at the end of this track.
Access Information
Troytown Farm and Campsite are located along a track which can get muddy after periods of heavy rain and is very rough and stony in places. If you are bringing a baby or small child, a backpack carrier or all-terrain pushchair is more suitable than a umbrella style buggy. If you use a wheelchair, it would be difficult to reach Troytown campsite.
St Agnes does not have a bus or taxi service. Everywhere on the Island is within easy walking distance and although visitors are welcome to bring push bikes, walking is the easiest and best way to get around the island.
For experienced kayakers it is possible to kayak to St Agnes from St Marys and the other islands and the campsite beach is suitable for landing and storing kayaks. |
